When you buy a timing belt replacement kit for your vehicle it s good to know that the kit contains everything you need to replace key wear parts in addition to the timing belt itself. Gates is vastly superior in terms of timing belt kits and radiator coolant hoses. But the ease of putting on the belt bolting up the water pump i e. Tensioners idle pulleys. Gaskets all fit correctly etc was very good once all necessary parts were out of the way.

As for the belt people have had problems with the timing marks being mismarked. Rock has a aisin complete component set with w pump for 205 which is a good buy. With the pulleys there have been problems with the chinese tensioner puking all of its oil out and losing tension shortly after installation. I don t know what comes in a timing belt kit branded as gates afaik they do not make hard parts like pulleys bearings.

There is a third party involved there and to avoid any question i like to get oem idlers tensioners water pumps. Which timing belt kit gates or dayco do you prefer for a honda accord. Go with oe or aisin. Aisin is as good as oem in fact it may be oem.

I d call it a draw. And definitely not water pumps.
